What's Happening in Gaza?

90 Days of Extreme Famine

Since March 2, 2025, the Israeli government has blocked almost all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, driving more than two million people into a deepening famine. This comes after over 600 days of bombing, forced displacement, and nearly two decades of blockade.

Civilians first attempted to deliver aid to Gaza on May 2 with the Freedom Flotilla but their ship was attacked by 2 drones in international waters off Malta. On June 1, military actors opened fire at starving civilians waiting for aid and killed at least 30 people. As of June 6, at least 110 people have been killed seeking aid from the Israel-US military aid scheme through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

Israel has turned humanitarian aid into a weapon of war

The Freedom Flotilla made a second attempt at delivering aid with the UK-flagged Madleen. 12 civilians, including Greta Thunberg and European Parliament member Rima Hassan, were kidnapped in international waters by Israel. Most of the kidnapped humanitarians were deported with a 100-year entry ban except for three who are facing a minimum 30-day extension in Israeli prison due to airports shutting down from Israel's attack on Iran.

As of June 15, X civilians have been killed by Israeli soldiers at GHF "aid distribution" centers. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is being implemented by two US private military contractors, Safe Reach and UG Solutions.UG Solutions is a NC company based in Davidson.

How to Financially Support Palestine

As Gaza faces one of the most devastating sieges in modern history, the need for international financial support is urgent but not always straightforward. With borders sealed and convoys blocked, traditional aid pipelines have been obstructed, politicized, or underfunded. At the same time, grassroots organizers, medical networks, legal teams, and mutual aid groups, both inside Palestine and across the diaspora, continue to move resources where they’re needed most.Whether you’re making a one-time donation or shaping a long-term giving plan, this resource offers pathways to stand with Palestinians materially, in ways that align with both need and justice. Even when governments block aid and criminalize solidarity, people everywhere are finding ways to give, build, and resist together. This is a guide to financially support Palestine, from emergency aid to long-term liberation work. These options are grouped by type of support so whether you're donating $5 or $5,000, there’s a meaningful way to act.

Emergency Humanitarian Aid

These organizations provide critical relief: food, medicine, shelter, trauma care, and evacuation support, especially during siege or bombardment. They have decades of infrastructure to effectively deliver aid until they were targeted for defunding by Israel and the US. Their ability to do their job is impeded by Israel's blockade on aid since March 2, 2025.A protected class under International Humanitarian Law, these humanitarian workers have been illegally targeted by Israeli forces while working on the job.
